Wales, The Kankurang, and the Sisters
We took a trip down to Wales with a suitcase full of traditional clothing, Maison Nwar jewelry, a Kankurang costume and a quiet mission: to create something that felt like home, far from home. That day, a Senegalese woman stood on a mountain, dressed in traditional clothing, wearing jewelry rooted in heritage. Her sister was right beside her, helping with every shot. And the Kankurang spirit walked with us through the grass. It’s not something you see every day. A shoot like this Senegalese tradition in the hills of Wales doesn’t just happen by chance. But it did. And it felt right. These photos capture that moment. No big production. Just wind, hills, spirit, and story.
